“All About Tonight” is the title track off Shelton’s
new album and his seventh No. 1 single

Nashville, TN – Right on the heels of the release of his latest album, Academy of Country Music and CMT Award winner, Blake Shelton hits No. 1 on the Billboard and Country Aircheck (Mediabase) charts with his single, “All About Tonight.” For one of the "most versatile of contempoary country singers" (The New York Times), this hit marks his second No. 1 of the year - “Hillbilly Bone” peaked at No. 1 on March 15 - and seventh of his career. Shelton has not had a single peak outside the Top Ten since 2007.

“I just want to thank my fans, friends and country radio for making this single a number one for me,” says Blake. “This wouldn’t have been possible without Bob Reeves and the Warner Music Nashville promo staff. I have never had two No.1's within five months of each other. Bob and his team continue to show us how committed and passionate they are about my music -- for that, I am truly grateful. I said this back in March, and I'll say it again, this is the best year of my career. Thank you.”

Shelton’s latest SIX PAK is produced by Scott Hendricks and includes six new tracks. Shelton's first SIX PAK album, "Hillbilly Bone," was released earlier this year and debuted at No. 3 on Billboard's Top 200 chart and No. 2 on the Top Country Albums Chart. It also featured the No. 1 title track with longtime friend Trace Adkins. Shelton hits include his back-to-back multi-week No. 1 singles, "She Wouldn't Be Gone" and "Home," his six-week #1 debut single, "Austin," and two additional multi-week No. 1 singles with "The Baby" and "Some Beach."

9513The trio of Rhett AkinsDallas Davidson, and Ben Hayslip has quickly become a hot commodity in the country music songwriting realm. All three being from Georgia, they’ve embraced their newfound collective notoriety and dubbed themselves the Peach Pickers.

The three friends scored their first hit as a songwriting trio in 2008 with Brooks & Dunn’s “Put a Girl in It,” which reached No. 3 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart. They also collaborated on Jack Ingram’s 2009 top 10 hit, “Barefoot and Crazy,” and Joe Nichols’ “Gimmie That Girl,” which topped the chart in May.

The songwriting trio has three songs on the current chart: Blake Shelton’s “All About Tonight” (No. 5), Josh Turner’s “All Over Me” (No. 12) and Nichols’ “The Shape I’m In” (No. 47). The trio also has seven cuts on forthcoming albums by Tim McGraw, Colt Ford, Craig Morgan, Frankie Ballard and Kevin Fowler.

Joe Nichols - "The Shape I'm In"

By: Kyle Ward

After finally returning to the pinnacle of country music with “Gimmie That Girl”, his first chart-topper in 5 years, Joe Nichols now brings us his follow-up “The Shape I’m In”.  The song follows the story of a man attempting to move on after he loses his significant other.  There aren’t a lot of bells and whistles on this track, no grandiose gestures, no crying in his beer, or attempts to get her back (or back at her), just a simple tune about moving on.  And - as Nichols learned from “Gimmie That Girl” -  simple works for him.

The lyrics are somewhat understated, and but quite effective.  When Nichols says that “Freedom caught me on the chin”, and “I’m gettin’ better, at barely getting by” he accurately paints the picture of a man dealing with acceptance.  What really elevates the song is the somewhat sparse production.  Although it gets a bit noisy during the chorus, the distraction is minimal.  The melody is sure to draw comparisons to “Gimmie That Girl”, but it’s the production that sets the songs apart for me.

Overall, Joe Nichols has provided an enjoyable song that, while not overly memorable, should keep him relevant at radio for the rest of 2010.  The laidback feel and catchy melody should play well as summer fades into fall.

Written by Dallas Davidson, Ben Hayslip and Rhett Akins.
